Default Gauge cluster shift light DIY

My recent project was adding a shift light to the gauge cluster on my 2014 CS. The color and rpm can all be changed as well as the lighting sequence. Let me know what you think…I’ll try and take some driving videos and post them. I also have some on Instagram

@project_981

Here are a couple pictures on the process taken to make it work.

Really nice work, great craftsmanship.

How are you getting the rpm signal, OBD? Also, what are you using for a controller and where did you mount it?

Thank you. The rpm is coming from the obd2 port. Im using an obd2 signal converter that switches the canbus to an rpm signal. For the light I’m using a Chippernut shift light kit which I installed just above the fuse box panel with Velcro. I also purchased a spare gauge cluster to modify the housing.

Wow, that's fantastic work.

I imagine you could make some decent scratch offering that service.

Thank you, that’s a great idea. I’m not sure if there are enough people interested but if there are I would definitely consider it. I might start working on another one for my wife’s Macan.
