Default 981 LATCH?

I'm about to order 955 044 806 20, the G1 LATCH seat, for my 981. The manual for the product seems straightforward, and the airbag disconnect based on weight is good enough for me. However, when I went to validate where the LATCH might be on my passenger seat, I found no evidence of a LATCH system at all in there. Has anybody here used 955 044 806 20 in a 981 front passenger seat? How did it hook up? The non-latch option, according to the manual, appears to rely on a hook we don't have either in the seatback.

I think the LATCH system is only found in rear seats. I didn't see any on my 14-ways. There should be an anchor point on the firewall directly behind the seat.

interesting. Ok, I’ll look again, I just don’t remember seeing anything back there when I did the serpentine belt service (using that firewall access point).

It's behind the headrest, to anchor the top strap of a carseat. I think we're stuck using a belt to anchor the base.

How old is the kid btw? I'm thinking of picking up a car seat for my Cayman so my 2 year old can ride along sometimes.

Kid is 6mo, heavy enough to meet the weight threshold, but mostly just getting my act in gear since I know this won't be a fast purchase what with the supply issues and the uncertainty around what fits the 981. We almost never ever drive her anywhere, so we just skipped worrying about Porsche fitment until the forward facing seat, which will be the longer-used one.

I really just don't remember seeing this this anchor behind the seat, headed down to the garage to look for it now!

Interestingly, Suncoast replied to my quote inquiry to say that the seat part I noted is no longer sold, and that it's been replaced by https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/skuchb.html, but that new model does not appear to even support the seatbelt / anchor approach, it seems to be isofix only, and the isofix kit (https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/99680308302.html) says 987 only.

1. Yes, indeed, the firewall anchor point is present. All good on that front.

2. Dealer has confirmed that 955 044 806 20 is no longer sold. This was the model which supported belt use.

3. Dealer says this model has replaced the one no longer sold.

4. Dealer says the new model no longer supports seatbelt use, requiring instead an isofix bar kit and that top anchor on the firewall. This bar kit is only available for 997 and 987 at this time.

As such, it appears there is no option for a car seat in a 981 at this time.

No Porsche option maybe, but I'd imagine any other car seat would work. I'm sure the Porsche model has an oem supplier that makes other compatible seats. There's plenty of belt anchored options out there.
