Default X post - 981 6 speed drag racing launch for dummies

We signed up for an autocross event that starts with a drag light tree, and no one on our team has pro soloed a 981 before, and one of us has never done a pro solo at all. Anyone have any experience with these clutches and gear boxes? I’m a bit apprehensive about not having a mechanical e brake, and the clutch doesn’t feel overly robust to me. The couple times that I’ve tried to be a little more aggressive it really gives the sensation that the clutch is slipping rather than the tires.. I feel like that’s not great for longevity. No one is really trying to “win”, but we would like to still have a car for the next autocross two days later . I’m not sure what the best technique to drive off with the least wear and tear, and to coach our novice to have confidence to not roll out of the lights accidentally. I think we’ll miss the hand brake for this. Who has drag raced their 981??
