I just did a DE after installing a 3rd radiator and saw oil temps drop from 272 to 249F so a noticeable improvement. Since I installed the 3rd radiator as a 'while I'm there' repair after popping a hole in an A/C coil during a track day, I also installed ZUN sport grills at the same time. So it reduced temperature even with the screens.

After the install and coolant purge by a Porsche shop, I drove around with my Durametric installed so I could watch the coolant and oil temps and I can confirm that the 194F coolant reading on the dash is a joke.

Cobb AP connected to OBDII port using the logging feature. I could only measure gearset side temp, not clutch side temp due to my Cobb AP having older software. I sold the Cobb before getting the updated software that I hear allows recording of both PDK oil temps.

I ordered the parts to install 3rd radiator on Cayman S. Seems like I got the incorrect side air duct as they still have bunch of holes on it. I am looking for the "closed" version which I understand the holes are block off.

I have ordered 981-575-321-02 1E0 (left) and 981-575-322-03 1E0 (right).
Would appreciate if somebody could share the part numbers for the closed version.
Tks

I installed the third radiator on my 981CS and also ordered the closed side ducts. Yours appears to be correct and IIRC the holes are for the horns that are behind the ducts.

The open duct was used on PDK Caymans and certain other cars to vent additional air from the center opening to the side radiators for additional cooling. When you install the center radiator on those cars you replace the open ducts with the closed ducts to create three separated openings. IIRC and you have a manual transmission you would already have closed ducts.
Jim

I think that all Boxsters may also already have the closed ducts.

Suncoast sells a $500 kit with the open side ducts and open center panel that directs air from the center opening to the side radiators. I have also included a photo of the removed open type center and side ducts from my 2014 Cayman S with PDK that I replaced with the closed side ducts and new center duct when I installed the center radiator.
Jim

Suncoast upgrade kit that includes the open style center and side ducts.

Maybe what I had in mind regarding what defines an open/close air duct was incorrect. Maybe is not related to the small bunch of holes but actually the shape of that part which allows air to get on the side of it.

this is the right air duct I got which I understand is correct as it completely blocks air from getting into the right radiator.

this is the left side which I understand is NOT correct as it doesnt block air from getting into the left side radiator. part number is 981.575.321.02 1E0.

Please could you confirm the part number that needs to be used for cars with PDK for the left side (driver)?

I installed my center radiator over four years ago so I don’t know if the part numbers have been superseded but I used 981575321031EO for the left closed duct and 981575322031EO for the right closed duct. For the center air guide was 981575141091EO which is specific to a Cayman S with PDK. It looks from your pictures that the first photos are the closed duct and the later is the open duct. Both the open and closed ducts have the small holes for the horn and do not have anything to do with the open or closed duct designation.

What car and options are you adding the center radiator to? The center duct I referred to snaps into the front bumper cover and into the the new plastic retaining frame that mounts to the new radiator making a transition/ seal between the bumper cover and the radiator. The 981575141091EO I used is for a Cayman S with PDK and without option 456 ACC (automatic distance control). The center duct was an expensive part IIRC over $300. Also make sure you cut the 4 square vents in your existing bumper cover that allows the new radiator to vent.

I dont have ACC so that matches what you have also. I will cut the 4 holes to vent the hot air. tks for the advise and support.
