Default front splitter advice

I have a 2014 base cayman and recently doing some spirited driving (150+) i felt the front end was a bit light. I want to add some front downforce without installing a rear wing or changing the front bumper. (i like the cars clean looks.) I don't have pasm and run michelin pilot 4's. Thanks for any advice.

I'd go with a roll bar, proper seat and harnesses, and a helmet to drive that fast.

Ha-ha, I have driver faster all my life when living in Germany, all you need is other drivers to be more disciplined to stay out of the left lane and know how to drive, not a rollbar or helmet.

Well, that eliminates every road in the continental U.S.

I say stay away from aftermarket lips.
they were never tested in the wind tunnel and will worsen your driving experience.

So 150+ mph is ‘spirited’? Bit like saying a hurricane is ‘windy’…

Thanks Tommy, i am concerned by lack of testing also. Sounds like most of our other cayman owners should buy volvo's and keep them in the garage. Speed kills.

This is definitely more expensive than a splitter, but supposedly the GTS front bumper was tested in a wind tunnel by Porsche.

Offers optimized aerodynamics, wind tunnel tested and made of Genuine Porsche Parts

Should be easier to do than the full on GT4 conversion. As far as I know, you don’t need to worry about GT4 AC lines or bumper bars.

Besides the aero, you get better looks and an additional radiator.

Dude, you're the one that threw out the big One-Five-Oh. Don't put crap like that up and then expect people to refrain from commenting.

dudette when is being specific posting your situation for advice crap? commenting is fine, i care not one bit about opinions other than for my splitter. i have owned six porsches and only my first 944 would not go that fast. but of course i never intended to pull plows or dog sleds. just an opinion of course.

Speed kills? Sure does. I can post a picture of my brother's headstone if you'd like to see that. He died in his Porsche......just after a bit of spirited driving at your speeds. Maybe he needed a splitter too.

I've been tracking and racing cars for 18 years and have never gone 150mph. I hit about 144mph at WGI in the Cayman.

If you're doing that on public roads, then politely go f*ck yourself.

you sound rather stupid and have taken the time to comment on something that does not concern you. i'm sure you have done many great things and your mom is proud of so please go away and let someone comment on the front downforce issue.

I am really interested in a front splitter as well. Turn 1 at my local track I apex at about 145 mph and the turn in is pretty iffy. There aren't that many options for non-GT4 Caymans, but here are the ones I do know about: Getty Design, TWL, Techart, and Powerstream Industries. If anyone has some real world feedback on the effectiveness of any of those splitters or have experience with another splitter, I would love to hear about it.
