Default Power tilt and telescope steering weel

We just added a 981 cayman S to the family today. When it arrived we had it next to our friend's 981S and now were wondering if the power tilt steering wheel isn't working properly. Our friend's car with the manual adjustment has a huge range of motion and the top of the wheel extends above the dash board. The power wheel in our car barely goes up high enough to be somewhat comfortable driving the car. The top of the wheel is covering part of the tach and is pretty close to touching your legs. It moves in and out as well as up and down, it just doesn't seem to have a useful range. This seems like the kind of thing we would take to a shop and they would just say "it's fine" without really checking it out.

I was a little surprised by the range too, but chalked it up to me putting my seat high. When I turn more than 90 degrees either way, my hand will brush my knees. I've gotten used to it though and there's def some lowering I can do with the seat to fully alleviate this.

Would you say yours doesn't quite come up to the top of the dash either?

Here's an image taken in my 2014 Cayman Base with power tilt wheel in it's highest position. I am 6' tall. I framed the image so that it is exactly what I see when I'm sitting in the car.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for this... Definitely higher than ours. I'm 5'10 and when I sit in the car, 4 and 5 are cutoff from the tach by the top of the wheel (highest adjustment). I'll dig out the factory workshop manual and see if I can learn about limit switches or any adjustments.
