Intermediate Service?

Intermediate Service?
2014 Porsche Cayman S.
A message pops up on my cluster screen when I start the car. For a few days it said something like "Interm Service in 30 days", and now it says "Service on 28,600 miles, 28 days". The car currently has 67,132 miles.
What is the "Interm Service"? Is it worth paying for, or should I just delete the message with the iCARsoft unit?
The previous owner of the vehicle was a certified neurologist. And I think he is a certified excretory orifice engaged in reproductive activity. Think about that last. And as such I do not have the warrantee book. It was purchased non-CPO from the local Porsche dealer three years ago. And what is the significance of the "28,600 miles"?
Thank you.

The intermediate service is due every 2 years or 20K miles, whichever occurs first. It consists of an oil/filter change (which is due every 10K or year) and a brake fluid flush along with a bunch of other "checks". However, at 67K miles and I'm guessing about 8 years in service, the car should have had 1 major service at 4 years and another is probably due soon (at 8 years in service). The major service adds plug change, air and cabin filter changes and I believe some additional checks to the intermediate service. Plus a drive belt change is due at 6 yrs/ 60K miles. If you don't have any service records I'd suggest having a major service done to be safe. Good luck!

My local dealer and indy both recommend replacing the water pump at 10 years.

Thank you for the replies.
Records from the dealership indicate the 40k service was done in 2016, to include the spark plugs, 27k miles ago. WF86 was completed with sensor and filter.
At purchase, new door panels, headliner, tires, and battery were installed, along with cabin/engine air filters. I was told the drive belt was changed, have not inspected it.
In August, I had the coolant temp sensor replaced and they did the brake fluid at the same time. I did not change the coolant, the shop said it was not necessary.
I have no idea on the water pump. What are the symptoms, if any, of an impending failure?
Thank you.

I think, but not sure, the only signs of an impending water pump failure is a slight coolant leak.
I'd be interested in hearing if there are other signs.

After considerable thought I have come to the conclusion that the "Intermediate Service" has essentially been done on my '14 Cayman S. Thus, I will use the iCarSoft POR II to reset the light.
I am still concerned as to why I might need to change out the water pump. I have removed the engine cover, for no other reason than to look at it, and to clean the top of the engine.
I am going to remove the cover in front of the engine behind the front seats over the next few days and inspect the serpentine belt and the water pump. This car runs perfectly.
Thank you.

Sounds like you're in pretty good shape re: maintenance. Porsche recommendation is to change the plugs every 4 years regardless of mileage. I just had mine done at 4 years and about 19K miles (2nd 4 year service) by a former 36 year Porsche mechanic. I asked about the need to change the plugs at 4 years when the mileage is low. He gave me the response I've read on this forum more than once - if you wait too long they can be hard to remove. So that may be one more thing you want to consider.
