2014 Cayman 981 with 104k miles; dealership says i need new transmission
#16
Getting the PDK installed wasn't uneventful. My independent mechanic had trouble getting the PDK to calibrate, so he had the car towed to Flow Auto. They calibrated it, but I encountered some fresh issues transmission warnings within a month of the repair. The local dealership stated the PDK didn't have enough transmission fluid, and topping it up made the issue go away. My original invoice from my independent mechanic showed a charge for 6L of transmission fluid, and if that was the issue, I'm not sure how the technicians at Flow Auto missed it. While going through this mayhem with the transmission I forgot I had a throttle body warning which needed addressing. The car stopped running when the throttle body went completely faulty, but now everything appears to be resolved and the car is running again. Appreciate the recommendations @6mmamer - I'll look up Latso at LMN Motor Sports in VA Beach, and also reach out to the folks at Auto Metrics Motorsports in SC and Miller Sport Auto in NC when things get "interesting" again. Cheers!
I had a gen1 PDK and I'm hoping the remanufactured PDK in 2023 will have better reliability. When it dies, I may also give BGB in Florida a call - https://teambgb.com/pages/porsche-pd...ebuild-program
