The top goes flush to the top of the windshield and you fold the sun visors down to hold it in place.
Mine touches the glass at the bottom but it doesn't fit inside the A pillars at the top. It's pinned between the visors and the headliner at the top. Could you post a picture? It sort of fits and yet sort of doesn't.

3M Crystalline actually, but shhh don't tell the guys at the state inspection station.

It seems like I have to push it in quite a bit at the bottom to make it work; I'll try to remember to take a pic the next time I use it,

Here's what mine looks like. Touches the windshield at the bottom, but there's a gap at the top where it fits against the visors. Maybe it's supposed to be like this? The visors are so short on our cars that they wouldn't contact it otherwise. MP2GF9s.jpg Gq0Chnf.jpg

I could have sworn that mine fit more flush against the windshield than that, but I just went and checked, and it fits about the same as yours (sorry, no pic; my garage is really dark). And you may be right about the short visors being a factor; the Covercraft shade I had for my G70 did fit flush against the windshield, but the visors on that car were also probably twice as tall as the ones on the Cayman...

Yeah the one I have on our Honda is like you describe with the G70.
Anyone know what Covercraft has been charging normally? I looked on their website and their Black Friday "deals" almost seem like they raised MSRP to make it seem like they're giving a great deal. About $100 for a sunshade now. Anyone buy one more recently than 2021 (this thread's age) that can comment on what normal pricing has been ?
And fwiw, I do have tint on my truck and did not think it makes nearly as big of a difference in interior temps when compared to using a sunshade on the windshield which is why I think I'll skip windshield tint on this, and all other cars, moving forward.

While I can't comment directly on Covercraft, I've been using the wire frame shades that twist into a circle for years now on multiple cars, and they do a great job of reducing heat in Florida sun.
I'm currently using the linked shade in size medium and it works for me. The chart says small is the proper size but it didn't fit (small visors as mentioned in an earlier post wouldn't hold the shade in place). It stores easily behind the passenger seat as well.
Last June I bought a covercraft windshield sunshade for the Cayenne. It was $110 on sale. List was $166. Like everything else the price has gone up. I also have the thermal noise reduction glass on the Cayenne. While the glass reduces the heat on the dash I still use the sunshade. Need to protect the leather.

Covering makes tailor cut windshield sun screen for the 981 Cayman/Boxster sold through Autozone. Perfect fit & good quality.
Mine dates back 2017 for $35 at that time.
It's a good thing I'm short [5'7"] since I have room to store the sunshade behind my seat or that of my passenger - I don't know how anyone over 5'10" has room even for a sunshade!
Along with the sun screen, I'd start a fund for the inevitable warped door panels that you're gonna get at some point.
i have the foldable Porsche screen in my 981. It's very lightweight and durable.
Those doorpanels are a regretful oversite done by Porsche. Its odd how parts supplier are wanting to sell us brand new ones that will fail the same way.
I had an upholstery shop service my drivers side a few years back and it now remains unwarped.
Apply IR Ceramic 80% "clear" window film to the inside of the windshield. Blocks 55% of infrared head, all UV.
I did this to my truck. Really doesnt do ****. Aesthetics aside, I wouldn't recommend it to block heat. UV, yes. Saves the interior from fading I suppose. But there was no difference in heat accumulation when the truck is parked. I didn't even get good glare reduction w/ 80%. If I did it again I'd go at least 50-60% for that.
