No PSE, I think it just has brombacher cans, it drones a bit to my ears, maybe not others,
I would be happy to trade them for a stock setup, is the stock setup just stock mufflers (cans)?
can I just unbolt them? Since no PSE that means there are no valves right? Is it the closed valves on a PSE that makes it quiet, so if I have no valves to begin with does that
mean even the stock set up (non PSE) is loud? Sorry, I don’t know much about these systems!

What Cayman do you have? It is a 981 or 718? Pretty much all stock exhausts will bolt on to the factory headers.

2014 981 Base, are the stock exhausts quiet even tho they are non PSE without valves available to close?

If it's just Brombacher cans, then the stock cans will bolt back up. If it is an entire Brombacher system, you'll need both the stock pipes and the stock cans. I bought a Brombacher system...Glorious sounds outside the car but the drone inside was too much for me and I had to swap back. Apparently, the drone is more intrusive in the Cayman than the Boxster because the Cayman's cabin area extends to directly over the cans and collects more of the drone.

Stock is pretty quiet ...Too much so for my taste...I don't want to make people wince in pain when I drive by but I'd like a little more rumble and grumble.

The stock non-PSE exhaust on my ‘14 981S wasn’t a problem at all. I’d be very surprised if a base set up would bug you.

OP, I have a complete OEM exhaust for a 981 for sale in the Rennlist marketplace. I have it boxed up ready to go. It has the Sport model dual exhaust tips. I took it off my car when it had only 1,020 miles on it and installed PSE.

I have a 2013 base with stock exhaust. Yes it is quiet, It sounds nice when I accelerate in a spirited fashion. For me that's just the way I like it.

I have a pair of base mufflers available.
Would be about $250 shipped.
