My "new to me" 2013 Base Boxster ... I noticed for the first time that it seems to "blip" the throttle when I downshift using the paddles...
My 2019 Macan S does not do this.....??

Best tranny ever. Absolutely love my PDK. Including the rev matching blips.

Its called "rev matching" on the 981 variants, and its essentially electronic heel/toe for the track. The pdk on your Macan is not the same PDK in your 981. The Macan uses an Audi transmission

The PDK has to rev match in order to downshift, in all cars it's installed in. If it didn't, believe me, you'd notice.

Does anyone know of the Macan claims to be a true DCT? Lots of cars have paddles to shift, but that doesn't mean dual clutch of course. The so called PDK in the Macan is not the same Porsche PDK used in other cars as the Macan and Audi Q5 are the same platform with different badges, and the Macan uses the Audi tranny

Exactly. I don't quite understand how the Macan could downshift without rev matching if it's a PDK, unless it's just griding the clutch to bring the engine up to speed. There's no viscous coupling or torque converter to allow any slip otherwise.

As others have said, your Macan is definitely rev matching downshifts, just maybe not as aggressively as your Cayman does. If it wasn't, it'd feel like you were slamming the brakes every time you pulled the paddle as drivetrain hauls the engine up to speed.

It’s normal - and sounds great too!
