Default First P-car - 15 Cayman GTS

Hello from Texas y'all - I just got my first P-car this week, a 2015 981 GTS 6-speed. I'm still getting to know it (a go-cart compared to my Texas-mandated F150 daily driver), and look forward to discussions with everyone here.

Any advice from fellow Texans on whether to mount the accursed required front license plate? Since it's a weekend car, I'm thinking I'll chance it for a bit until the tickets start to pile up! Thanks.

^ Nice, like the color, too!

I'm in TX as well (DFW) and I have never had a front plate on any of my Porsches.. knock on wood I've never had an issue, either.

If I were to do it, I would install one of those aluminum plates that screws into the tow-hook spot and do it that way.. No way I would drill/install a front plate on a pristine front bumper.. but thats just me

Just picked mine up also.....not quite as nice as a GTS
I don't plan on putting on front plates.
Normally don't even have them on my jeep because I forget to put them back on (winch mounted plate, and take them off to use the winch)

I just can't see paying $100 plus for a tow mount plate bracket.

Congrats! Looks like a million bucks, but not a 918

I have the tow hook mounted license plate bracket from US Millworks, does the job fine. Figured I didn't want to give the cops any "gimme" reasons to pull me over.

You could look up skenebrackets.com. They make a bracket that doesn’t put any holes in the bumper face. It screws into the underside if the center opening. The only drawback might be blocking a center radiator if you have that. I don’t and I like the plate centered. I made my own bracket,so can only say the Skene one looks like it’s well made. Have fun with your new toy.

Very nice color sir.....but I could be a lil biased . If you want to talk mandate, the only mandate you have is to get out into the Hill Country and enjoy your new whip.......Phil

Congrats on your new ride. She is a beauty.
Here in Illinois and plateless...using this to mount and unmount...mostly. https://zicmoto.com/shop-by-vehicle-type/porsche/cayman There are others as well, but the cars look so much better without. The other suggestion is grill covers for all your openings. I had the front cover off to remove the licence plate holes and used Rennline. The side opening I used https://www.radiatorgrillstore.com He is a regular on the site and has a full set up for your GTS.
Cheers

Congratz on the GTS.... Beautiful color...

The problem with the tow hook mount is it covers up the bumper parking sensor which I see you have...
