Default CTEK Battery question

I am wondering if a CTEK 5.0 charger with the cigarette adapter will work for a 13 Boxster

Looking at other maintainers and the question came up as how much is the 13 Boxster drawing when turned off.
How to decide when here are many choices and they have different amperages.
TENDER ranges from 1.5A to something around 12.

It kinda depends on how far discharged your battery becomes and the lack of usage of the car. The longer it sits, the more the battery is going to discharge. I run a small 1A CTek unit on my 5 motorbikes and rotate it around all of them in turn over the winter months when they are not getting as much use. When I got my 981 GTS it had been in storage and shipping for quite a few months, so I just used the little u it to see how it would go. It took 3 days, but it brought the battery up just fine. I now rotate around the bikes and the car, which now takes just an overnight CTek session to fully charge it. Hope this helps inform your choice.

Is it recommended to leave the ctek plugged in 24/7? I drive my car once a week and I have just been leaving the tender plugged in when I'm not using it.

I have, for a few years now on a 76 and will be using another unit on 13 Boxster.

You can. I don't think you need to though if you drive the car every week. I think its more important to plug it in when the car won't be used for multiple weeks/months at a time.

Yes, I take my car off right before I drive it and put it back on the tender right after I drive it. CTek is safe to leave on the battery 24/7.

You can leave them plugged intoi the car long term. They only charge when they detect that voltage has dropped enough to warranty charge being supplied. depending on the condition of the battery the charger will adapt the charge current and even pulse the charge to keep the battery in best shape.
