hah, i'm on the other side of things. If I could give you the pops and bangs from my car, I'd gladly get rid of them all together. Cant stand that trend.

I think it sounds much better, you still get some naturally occurring pops but the diarrhea sounds are gone.
Here’s a video with the M-Engineering tune with the fake burbles turned off, you can check his other videos also

thks but with a 3.4 GTS with header 200 cell cats and green air filters I might only gain 20hp at the top end and the top end is already great, I want torque ?
its a bit like the luxury of having a 360 Challenge Stradale which I did for 8 years, but needed more torque
which only comes with engine volume I guess hence 3.6 or 3.8L

See my personal experiences with tuning in 2021, earlier in this thread.
You can't solve it unless you throw a whole lot of many at it, which means replacing the 3.4 with a 3.8 according to Jens Ehresmann (a German tuner).
Something you can't get done legally over here.
That's why in the end I decided to sell my 981 Boxster GTS and order a 718 Boxster 4.0 GTS. Delivery scheduled for March.
I really loved driving the 981, but the dip in the torque curve annoyed me in the end.
But I'll definitively miss the sound of the 3.4.
Hopefully the improvements in the new car will compensate for it.
And I wanted PCCB's, which my 981 did not have.

I own a BRZ and a base 981 cayman with FVD tune. Both have torque dips. The fun of the car is that it is NA and blasting past the torque dip. Both are low torque anyway so I can whine them out on public roads at relatively safe speeds. Something the higher torque cars can’t do for long. For example, because of the sound at 7000 rpm on the 2.7l my wife thinks we are going faster when really we are not going that fast. It’s the experience and feel of it.
After years of discussing this on forums and with many drivers. People get used to low end torque on big displacement engines or turbos. It’s then hard to go to an NA for street and around town. But I am still a believer of slow car fast beats fast car slow for fun. This is all street driving. If you are tracking for time well more torque and HP. The key is to have multiple cars, NA and turbo or V8. Pick and choose what you want that day.
The FVD tune may not eliminate the torque dip just improves it, and definitely improves throttle response and power above 5k. On my base it made normal mode feel closer to sport stock and sport mode was much better than stock. When the cam comes on at 5k the car lurches forward. Love it.

Don't want a turbo engine but a NA without the (for me) annoying dip in the torque curve plus the improved handling of the 718.
