I bought Fabspeed, just like the looks of them, all the welds look prettier than the single cast Soul (and other branded) unit. I'm dubious of the Fabspeed performance claims, though Carnewal has also stated that aftermarket x pipes reduce power from Porsche OEM as well.

Interesting to hear that. Did you notice any sound difference ?

X-pipe tips sound better compared to the OEM tips, but I can't imagine HP increases being discernable in a dyno graph. Maybe. But unlikely. I have the "old style" Fabspeed, circa fall 2015, the ones that are a true X, not two curved pipes joined at the bends. I think the Soul version sold now is more of the true X design.

X-Pipe tip assemblies should be considered an excellent aesthetic enhancement on the car. Any performance gains or losses are negligible, as the variances in the dyno runs themselves would account for the changes of simply the tip assembly (changing out the paper air filter to a BMC would be a good comparison). The sound can be a bit more of a noticeable change, someone with a sophisticated ear can pick up on a bit smoother of a tone. That said, if you're after performance....you should be looking at headers and/or software. If you're looking for improved sound, you should be looking at a muffler or header change depending on your subjective goals. If you want the car to look better and accept any sound improvement as a bonus, then get yourself some cool new tips. tips typically sound make no discernible difference to sound. its possible since these are x pipe there could be a ever so slight difference, but id argue you probably wouldnt notice it by just change the tips on oem exhaust.

Diamond Dave,

If you're looking for the most aesthetically pleasing tips, our Carbon Fiber tips are second to none. Not only will the X-pipe add a more aggressive tone to your exhaust note but you will be able to take advantage of a little more power.
Take a look for yourself, if you have other questions feel free to PM us!

Cheers, John

There is a noticeable difference in sound between the OEM 90 degree sharp bend connection to the tips compared to the X-pipe tip connection. I can tell the difference if I'm blindfolded and a 981 drives by with some throttle and RPM on tap. Not a difference like you find with race exhaust versus OEM exhaust, but definitely a difference in sound, and a good difference as well. Sounds just slightly more raw. Again, it's a subtle difference, but it's there. I would buy my tips again just for the difference in sound. When you're in the car, I'm not sure you can tell, probably can't. But you can outside.

this is compared to stock exhaust right? Curious about pse with x pipes if there would be a noticeable difference as well

There is. I have PSE and there was a definite difference in exhaust tone at idle and lower RPM driving when I put my Soul cross tips on. I cant really tell a difference at WOT wail, but like others have said, there is a noticeable difference with the tip change albeit not a drastic one.

X-pipes combined with rear window wiper adds a solid 15hp. Right from the horses mouth!
