Nice pure Deutschland quality there, if Kia or Hyundai would have sold subpar products like that would have been the laughing stock of people, but wait Porsche can make sub par products and still be hyped up.

I bet a few dabs of expanding foam allowed to set would be a good bonding agent. It would fill the gaps well and when it dries, its quite weatherproof/resilient, and it would break if an air bag deployed. A night mare would be if its over applied without tape protection, but its predictable with some experience in its use..

Hi All. New here, but been on other P Car forums like 914world for years.
Having a similar / worse door panel problem (3 of 4) on my new to me 2013 Cayenne S. I see the door panel thing as a personal DIY challenge, and a big reason I received a healthy discount on the car.
Great to see all the ideas and possible fixes here.
I can tell you what DOESN'T work... hot melt glue. Held great for a day or so indoors, but once installed on the car in FL, even under a carport, no bueno. Now I have to clean off all of the hot melt glue to start over. Joy...
Another option I considered is contact cement, but it looks like that will re-flow similar to what hot melt glue does when exposed to heat and sunlight, and may even attack the foam.
I am thinking that maybe a thin layer of contact cement may be a good "primer" for the foam, as it appears that the foam may have a release agent / something greasy built into it. Thoughts?
I've already purchased a few options from Walmart posted here, but haven't tried yet, like Heavy Duty 2 sided emblem tape, 3M Black Weatherstrip Adhesive, as well as Loctite Shoe Glue (thin, clear, strong, flexible, heat and water resistant, etc.), OG JB Weld, etc.
I would be curious what heat resistant expoxies you guys might recommend for this application as well. I believe Pedro uses an epoxy and some aluminum strips.
One idea I found on 6speedonline was, after glueing the door top back on, to also glue a thin strip of nylon mesh to the outer edge of the foam and wrapped around to the plastic door card. It seems like the door panel top has a strong "memory" and wants to return to it's pulled away state.

You're not far from Pedro Bonilla's place. I'd say, just turn it over to him before the glue fumes get to you.
