Interesting, I drive a 2011 Spyder and a 2017 Tundra, wife has a RAV4 Hybrid. Every base covered regardless what sort of drive is needed for the day.

DD? 2010 Golf inline-5, MT, Pirelli Spttozeros, Recaro seat and steering wheel package from the GTI.
Super fun to drive, easy to get into, good storage, cheap, can take a few door dings in the city and I don't freak out.
The GTI might be more fun and as mentioned the R is AWD and great for winter driving.
My favorite, much missed, DD? My 2014 981 base Cayman PDK. Loved that car.

I don't own one but for a sporty rwd 6MT DD a used subaru BRZ (or toyo 86/scion FRS) would be fun choice...cheap to buy, cheap to maintain, super low center of gravity so can throw on a set of steelies with snow tires and ya good to go...

I have a 2014 Boxster that was flooded in the 2017 Houston hurricane that I brought back to life and use that as my daily driver except in Ohio Winter, when my F-150 becomes the daily driver.

"Air Cooled" not recommended as a DD since you get to do a lot of shifting and most are not equipped with P/S; all not a good package if you spend time in traffic. Most have high mileage and prices are going up. Is your tech familiar with air cooled? Many dealers are not as they have more experience with newer (complicated) models. Above recommendations by others, based on price point, mileage driven and comfort level. Good Luck. Oh, I drive a Golf (not a cart).

2013 Boxster Base is my daily driver. I can drive the base more spirited because of it's low power. I drive it daily because it is rare on the road, admired, makes my commute enjoyable, and reminds me daily why I love Porsches. I drive it year round. I also have a Chevy Equinox for hauling people and gear or during tropical storms. I hardly ever use it.

Bought my 06 Cayman S as a daily driver. Have had it for exactly 12 months now and have put on 14K miles. It gives me something to look forward to at 5am every morning when I leave the house! For yard work/ rental property work/ towing boat I have a 10' F250 Diesel that is highly modified and can put out 900hp and 1600 lbs of torque. Yes, it's much faster than the Cayman in a straight line. Not as much fun to drive as the Cayman though.

The Cummins diesel in my rig puts out only 650 hp but I have you beat on torque. 1950 ft lbs!
I do have two Porsche street cars and sometimes think they are wasted as the traffic is so horrible in this city. The few times I drive them it is a treat and especially in the case of the Spyder I always feel the resolve not to sell it as long as I'm physically able to drive it.

2017 911 Carrera (PDK)
I probably should have gotten a Golf R or a Macan S/GTS/Turbo, but one neighbor has a Golf R, another neighbor has a Macan S and a Macan Turbo, and my wife wants a Macan when she decides to upgrade from her current crossover.
