2014 981 S - Issues w/ starting?

I almost recommended the same approach...Back in the day, 993's were notorious for the DME relay crapping out...Most of us carried an extra relay and a homemade three-wire jumper (To get us out of the road), but in a pinch a hard whack with the butt end of a screwdriver was often enough to "get you home." There was a guy that built a non-mechanical relay but I don't know if it caught on...I think most 993 owners enjoyed the pain of the mechanical relay, if nothing else but to talk about it.

"The "battery was replaced a couple years ago as preventative maintenance since it was 6 years old, so I doubt it's a battery issue."
I had a 99 Mercedes 320 coupe and the battery lasted 15 years with no batter tender. No lie!
I use BatteryMinder now. It desulfates the plates. Sulfate accumulation causes battery failure. dlb
