Rear Seat Delete and Rear Shelf
It appears that there is a combination of these that work best.
The Rear Seat Delete (RSD) appears to be basically a carpet set of sorts that replaces the Rear Seats. If you have a Cabriolet, there is a a specially created cabinet available that sets over this area with a couple of cubbies.
For the Club Sport - there is a shelf that sits over the carpeted area that acts as an extension of the rear cargo area.
Anyone here has the aforementioned Rear Shelf by chance?

They pop up from time to time, but are NLA from Porsche. It's just a flat piece of wood that's carpeted. Underneath there is a wooden fin in the center and the sides have basic L brackets that are bolted where the seats would go.

This is the shelf.
I believe this is factory carpet and under the shelf.
I have pictures somewhere of someone removed their shelf, and measured it, as mentioned above it is super heavy 1inch like plywood.

why dont you just use a 1985-1987 944 rear seat upper portion, before they split them its plywood and has all the factory hinges and brakets and hardware to bolt right into your 968 all you need to do is strip the seat vinyl and foam and old carpet off of it and recover thats basically all Porsche did just used what they already had in there parts bin. Very minute easy changes were made is all. Then it can hinge up or down like the factory turbo S rear shelf.

I have the rear shelf from a 968CS. i wouldn't call it heavy, it's much lighter than a homemade MDF version I had made. It's supposed to come with a small black cargo net too.
I'm about to remove mine to perform a rear seat delete as I'm still using the stock rear seat bottom so will weigh the shelf while its out.

I have one of the shelves in very nice condition with the factory L brackets. It is no longer required and I am thinking of putting it up on ebay but have no idea of pricing. Googled but can't find one for sale or sold... Anyone have any clues on what a fair market price would be? I have a couple of people interested but don't want to under sell or over sell.
