Another update, car went in storage in November 2015, has been there since this past week, battery was disconnected and not on a trickle charger. Car started right up, first try no problems.

This was in an unheated storage space in VT.

Secretly I was hoping the battery would fail, so I could get a Voltphreaks LiFePo.

So my conclusion, all the people that have problems with this battery have drainage issues.

With all the work, shop has let the battery drain multiple times over the last year. To my shock, I can still do a full trickle charge over night, the the battery starts the car a week later still..

Nice looking setup. I definitely would like to be able to clean out the leaves around my battery easier.

I did a similar setup from Braille on my BMW around 4 years ago. I think the 21 lb battery made it through 3 winters. I replaced it with a less expensive but very similar sized version from a local BatteryPlus.

Definitely a good mod if it doesn't end up costing much more or causing other issues.
