Yet another Wheel Offset Question
#46
Three Wheelin'
My 968 manual has 7jx16 with 57.96 in. offset and 8jx16 with 57.09 offset.
For the larger wheel it has 7.5jx17 57.40 in and 9jx17 56.92.
Now 5.7 inches makes sense, not 57...
Kevin Gross has this too which seems to conflict with my manual.

(The track measurements change if the wheels change because the offsets are different)

You can use this extremely helpful tool to help you visualize different widths and offsets.

I used it to calculate the custom offsets I needed so that I could fit 265 tires on 18 x 9.5 wheels all round on my 951.

Dredging up an older thread to posit the following question:
Looking at the added spacer - the wheel stud threads left for engagement are reduced.
Is this acceptable? I'm looking at replacing the stock 45mm rear wheel studs with 52mm wheel studs to accommodate the 7mm spacer so as to return the wheel nut/stud thread engagement back to the original specs.
Thoughts?

Lots of good info in this thread. I found a square setup that I am considering buying for my 968. They are 18x9 et52 all around. Any input on how this will fit the car?
