Default What does the locking switch actually do??

I read through the manual and it really doesn't answer my question. It might be a stupid one but what is the point of the switch in the center console that has the door/key icon on it. I have central locking on my car and everything seems to work fine. Both doors lock/unlock with the key, however I dont get the point of that switch. When I'm in the car, hitting the switch locks the doors and the red light comes on....is that it? Is there any point to it?

Yes, in my experience, that is all it does. Lock or unlock both doors. Seems a bit silly considering the size of the car and ease of reaching them both from the driver's seat... but Porsche must've thought we needed the feature.

and a light to tell you the door is locked? Sounds like typical Porsche over engineering. I do like the feature that locks/unlocks both doors with the key though.
