Fan running for no apparent reason?

An update to this.

Just the other day the auxiliary fan ran continuously until the battery ran all the way down.

After jumping the car it started fine, but the fan would not stop running. So I pulled one of the cables off the battery.

Turns out that the fix was actually the thermo switch - the one that plugs into the radiator itself. This is a cheap part so if you have to do the relay, then based on my experience you might consider doing both parts.

Also, this latest episode caused the car to throw a fault for the Air Bag so now I'm going to have to get that reset.

Update - The termo sensor has been installed for about 2 weeks and all seems well. I still have to get the airbag light reset, but that is for another time.
