I'd be really curious how many are actually left, and out of those, how many are actually in decent running shape. The numbers have got to be getting somewhat thin by now, maybe half of the production run still on the road?

The Porsche GB website refers to the 968 as "Porsche's best kept secret". While I believe they will never rise to the popularity of the 914-6, I'm thinking they will be at least as desirable as the 914-2.0
I would love to have a low mileage tip cabriolet in excellent condition to contrast with my coupe project.

The Porsche Club 968 Deutschland e. V (www.porsche-club-968.de) published the number of 968s registered in Germany, by Bundesland (State) and there were a total of 1,025 Coupes, 532 Cabriolets for total of 1,557.
In the USA, it would require requesting registered 968s from each of the State's Dept. of Motor Vehicles, which would be a daunting task.
Before I left as PCA 968 Advocate in June 2008, there were 240 Coupes and Cabriolets registered but Jeff Coe, who replaced me, would have the current number of members and their cars. Also, not sure of the status of the 968 Coupe and 968 Cabriolet Register lists which included all Coupes and Cabriolets that were known of in the USA. Perhaps Jeff can share info on this.
