FWIW I saw that car in the original post on the streets of Tokyo in 2010.
I might even have a pic. Looks like summer yellow.

Dakar is a great color! Here is my 99' M3 in Dakar II that I was in the process of detailing a couple of weeks ago. Definitely a hard color to photograph though and get the real feel for it, but I think this is a pretty accurate shot in my garage.

As an FYI, if anyone is looking for a summer yellow 944S, a buddy of mine is selling one in decent condition (at least last time I saw it) for relatively cheap. Pm me if you want details.

Dakar is an awesome color, I like it better than Speed Yellow.
