Speaker Grills - '95 968
Hey everyone.....recently I noticed the black metal grills on both my driver and passenger drive doors are starting to rust, and want to know if anyone knows where I can pick up a couple more to buy?
Or would it be easier to remove them and just paint them myself? Not sure how easy they are to remove...
Any advice is greatly appreciated...

I think I have an extra set in good condition, let me check the garage this weekend.
The grilles are easy to remove from the panel, but you face two challenges with the grille cloth. First is getting it off cleanly, which is only really important if you plan on reusing the existing cloth. The second is sufficiently tacking the grille cloth back onto the grille without glue residue showing through.

I removed mine, stripped off the cloth then repainted them. I was able to obtain the fabric from a local high end home theater store and glued it back on with contact cement.
I was able to use a rubber wheel to remove all the excess fabric (more like paper). Then its just a matter of carefully applying the contact cement to the grill being careful not to get any in the holes or on the newly painted side, then press on the fabric being careful not to get wrinkles. Cut the excess, reinstall and enjoy.
Make sure whatever fabric you get is accoustic, don't want to block the sound from your speakers.
