Default P1397 no start unless I flood it with the gas pedal

I have a 98 Boxster base and I backed it in my garage one day and the next day it refused to start. I purchased a Durametric system and I’m only getting code P1397 Camshaft Sensor Bank 2 Short to Ground. I started by changing the sensor(behind driver seat), then checking the wiring for continuity back to DME, DME replaced, but still no start. Same code still exists. Would this problem have anything to do with maybe a faulty battery or AOS? completely stomped. I’ve been diagnosing it for over a month. Any info is greatly appreciated.
