Left ball joint has worn out: mechanic wants to replace with Porsche part.
Any reason not to? I don't want to have change both arms: too much money. He doesn't trust 3rd-party rebuilders, says some bushings fail waaay prematurely.
I'm thinking of going to an M030 sway bar while this is done. Any input appreciated....
i sent mine off to an Excellence vendor. Mainely by design. it was around 300 bucks with no core charge. i received 2 painted control arms with the ball joint and one of the other bushings replaced as well. (not the castor block). its been a year and 15,000 miles no problem...
i would upgrade the rear sway bar as well as the front if you're going that route... if you upgrade just the front you'll have some wacky dynamics.
From: one thousand, five hundred miles north of Ft. Lauderdale for the summer.

Today I drilled spindles for the 19mm control arm race/drop pins, I was telling the guy that The control arms I designed just used 2 bolts and the pins were not needed.
