Post Under hood glove box ?

My father bought a '94 coupe back in June/July. I noticed when he bought it that the front cover, that sits forward of the radiator, was not on his car. The dealer said that not all 968's came with it, which I accepted. For Christmas I decided I would buy him the part and install it, so the engine looks more finished off. My question is how is this thing attached to the car. In the picture below I have circled where two tabs are located that appear is if they get pushed into some sort of mount. My dads car has absolutely nothing here and I don't see precisely how it works.

any help is appreciated

Most 94 cars and all 95's didn't have that trim, and so the attachment points were deleted from the body of the cars. It's said that you can just rest the parts in place, but I can't guarantee that.

You might try asking your question here:

It rests just fine in the compartment. If you're really concerned you could have tabs welded in place to accept the plastic screws, but I didn't bother.

Last time I checked Porsche was backordered on the white gloves for the cubby-$10 for the package!

the front of the cover wedges into the bumpercover, So you will have it secured from the bottom...

Thanks for all the replies. I suppose just laying it in there will do for now.

Damian, I tried to order the entire package for the cubby --> gloves, rag and bag. So far I have only the gloves, the other stuff can't be found anywhere in the US according to my dealer, so its coming from Europe

That's funny...
My '94 has the front cover. It has the gloves and rag too... which I thought were just misc. items left by the PO. I had no idea they were stock.

I think it's really a considerate thing from Porsche to do. I still have the original white plastic bag to put a tire in in case of a flat. On a 13 year old car..
