Question Garage Queen or Daily Driver

I was enjoying the remarks made on a prior thread that started out as a question between owning an M3 or a 968. The comments steered a bit off course and a very interesting debate started to unfold concerning why we own our Porsches. I wanted to weigh in on this as a first time 968 owner.

I have owned an embarrassing number of "garage queens" since I have been old enough to spend money on them. I have always kept them in a nice, clean garage safe from a single rain drop or snow flake. God forbid that they would even get dusty. Nice driving days were 72F with no sign of precipitation in a 5 state area and low traffic to prevent rock chips.

HOWEVER....this 968 is just way too much fun to drive. I took it on my 35 minute commute through the 2 lane country roads to work this morning and I don't think that I can bring myself to drive the Silverado 4x4 to work this summer. Likely, the 968 will rest during the winter (maybe) but WOW is this car fun to drive. I can't see parking it unless I had another one to drive. The Chevy will get a long deserved break this summer.

I sold my daily driver coupe, and picked up my 95 Speed Yellow cab last Friday night-and managed to put on 150 miles over the weekend-top down in March! I won't do this too often, the car has under 20K miles.

Guys, that's largely because gas is so darned cheap in the States.

You could call my 62K 951 cab which I bought 3 years ago with 58K a garage queen... $75 tankfulls here in Europe are a big incentive to keeping it that way
