I am using 968 hubs/brakes on my 931. I lost my old cable drive speedo hubs with the conversion.

Problem is I want a speedo signal. I know the 968 unit takes the signal from the front left ABS sensor.

I am not using the 968 abs system.

My question, will the relay 96461822000 be enough to convert the abs signal to a speedo signal or do I really need the ABS control unit also ?

Good question and I wish I had a good answer. I'll try and see if I have the 968 drawings and digest how they are connected. If you need I have an ABS control unit in my parts pile if you need one to experimate with. If you even want to borrow it I can help.

I wish I could help, but I've never fooled around with the ABS system (my racecars don't have them) and the electrical system is by far my weakest area on the car. I'll forward this to a friend of mine who helped by my electrical.

I looked at the wiring diagram. The relay is at position G16 and is called FCU (frequency control unit).

It gets the ABS signal from pin 17 form the 'ABS control unit'

I have read it uses the signal from the front left abs sensor.

Problem is, that there is nog diagram of the inside of the 'ABS control unit', so I don't know if the signal is putted straight to the relay G16.

Another problem is that the ABS sensor has got two wires, should one go to the relay and the other one to ground or + ??????
