968 radiator new from worldpac
I bought a new radiator from worldpac yesterday, and I received a genuine Porsche unit. The "porsche" stamps were ground away, but I could tell it was genuine. In the past I have received aftermarket brands (944 though).
One problem. The "968" radiator was actually a 951 unit. The small nipple on the passenger side was drilled through, but it should have been left blocked off. Well a small mess and a $5 heater hose cap later, all is well. I was really upset at first but this fix works well enough that I won't bother with the hassle of sending it back and asking for a new one.
I got the heater hose bypass cap as part of a package of assorted sizes at autozone for $5. The largest size was 3/4", which I was barely able to shove onto the nipple. It just looks like a stub of a hose with one end closed off.
Just some interesting facts I wanted to share.

I think this is just another one of those parts that's shared across models to reduce production costs. 944/968 coolant reservoirs and manual/tip brake fluid reservoirs are other examples.

Worldpac is awesome, as far as I am concerned. My wife and I started a company, Banger Industries, that allowed us to get an account with Worldpac. Their stocking warehouse is just a couple of miles from our house, so we get a large number of our parts the same day that we order them and we get decent wholesale pricing from them. And yes, we get a lot of genuine Porsche parts from them, complete with the box and label bearing the "Porsche" name.

I love worldpac too, luckily my boss lets me use his account and the warehouse is only a few miles from my house.
I just wish the radiator came with the nipple capped off.

According to the Paragon Products webiste, the radiator sold for the 951, 944S2, and 968 is the same unit, and there is this note for the 944S2 and 968:
*944S2 and 968 using radiator 951.106.031.05 must use # 944.106.103.02 "Block Off Plate". Included with radiator.
http://www.paragon-products.com/prod...106.103.02.htm
And this "block off plate" is a rubber cap. Since that cap has a Porsche part number, I conclude that the 951 is officially the only radiator available for these cars now, and that one is supposed to order this cap if needed. Since my worldpac rep is no Jason from Paragon, he didn't inform me I need it.
It is strange though that Pelican lists different part numbers for sale for the 951 and for the S2/968. And the turbo unit is cheaper than the 968 unit... like way cheaper... I would buy their turbo radiator and just cap it! Oh wait, that's what I did by mistake!

From what I can tell, the only radiators available are from Laengerer and Reich. Pelican, WorldPac and SSF all show that as the only one available, and its the same part number for 951's, S2's and 968's (despite what I am assuming is a typo on Pelican site for the part number on the 951 radiator).
