I am taking the 968 back to my local independent Porsche specialist tomorrow to replace both rear Koni Yellows. I put 2500 miles on them and they both are blown, first the left rear, then the right. All street miles, not track time. I expected them to be an "install and forget" type of item. Koni and my local shop are replacing them under warranty for free.
Has anyone had a similar issue with their 968/944? They are rebound adjustable. Were they set to stiff? Just a fluke?
Thanks,
Steve

On Koni shocks there's a special air release washer that's meant to go between the bump stop and the body of the shock. If it's missing the bump stop can pump air into the shock and damage the seal. Were the washers missing, by any chance?
