A little lip?
I love my 968 and I love the look of Fuchs on a 944. While I am not suggesting Fuchs would look good on a 968, I would like to bolt on a set of wheels with a little less offset and a little more lip showing on the outside. I noticed that the 968 Turbos have what appears to be a little less offset. So here's the question: is it possible to utilize parts from the rear suspension of a 1986 951 to gain the inch in offset while still retaining the ABS?

You could run an early offset rear suspension, but you'll lose the abs.
For the time and money that would cost, just buy the right set of wheels.
CCW will make you set of custom wheels and you should be able to get at least a 2.5" lip in the rear.
Also Jim Dorciak has a nice set of 18" techart daytonas he can build you to fit perfect.
Also not cheap.
I had 18x10's on the back of my old 968. I think he lip was close to 3".
The offset was something like 48mm.
