Default check engine light

Check engine light came on tonight during hard driving in extreme heat. Temp looked to be OK. Is this something to be real worried about?

Probably doesn't have anything to do with the heat. Most CELs are gas caps or oxygen sensors, and if it's an oxygen sensor, you're going to be running rich...so yeah, I wouldn't ignore it.

I did run it to 5500 rpms today and it did not repeat. Should I change the o2 sensor to be safe or could it be something with the fuel I am running. It only did it at high rpm. I do have a promax 7100 chip with test pipe installed. Could that have anything to do with it? If I do change the sensor who has the best price. I hear sunset porsche a lot but have not purchased anything from them yet.

Can't you do the code blink test with the dash light to see what is up?

I never thought of that but I wonder if it would tell me anything since it only happened at high rpm and was only for a second or so.
