I am installing a Momo steering wheel in my de/track car and would like to keep the horn active. Since it is necessary to remove the clock spring what part or modification is done to keep the brass ring on the adaptor in contact so the horn connection is constant?

Thanks,
Joel____You will need this "brass kind of L shape contact" available from Sunset ,but can't understand why you need to modified anything. If it's simular to an SC steering wheel you will have only one wire connecting to your horn ring.

Thanks guys, Should have know that Dave G, would have done a DYI for this mod!
Joel___like Miles I just install my SC a couple a weeks ago & this migth help you with the DIY side off it.
First Pic the tool _ First I've use the # 30 torx on the rachet with an exension to loosen them up then I finish removing them with the driver ,the magnet will help you retreive & installe the flat washer behind the 24mm nut___second pic a short 24mm socket with a garden hose washer in it will save you lot of headhach when removing & installing the nut back __third pic mark your spline shaft ( fine black marker) it will help you lining up up your new steering wheel.Fourth pic is off the resistor instead of just using black tape & tucking it inside the wheel I shrouded it in rubber cap & tie-wrap it under the dash.Last pic is the final result .LOL have fun.

Is the wiring harness different between a 944/951 and 968? On my '87 951, I had to take the horn wire from the clock spring connector and add it to the connector that plugs into the back of the turn signal assembly.
Has anyone successfully ordered the horn wipe ("brass kind of L shape contact") lately? Last I heard, they were NLA.
And I'm really curious if adding the resistor really does allow the passenger side airbag to deploy. I've seen it mentioned more times than I can count, but I've never heard of anyone getting into an accident and having the passenger side airbag function (not that I want anyone to get into an accident!). Since my airbag light was always illuminated and wouldn't reset, and I couldn't get brand new airbag system parts for a 23 year old car, I opted to remove the whole system and retrofit a non-airbag dash.
Same here it came from Sunset with the whole package to install the SC.Don't know if they are different but like I said in my previous reply had only one wire to connect to my horn ring the one coming from the back, here is a pic of how the wires run on a 968.
