Just the one set of wheels. I may try to pick up a 2nd set of rims and tires to use for autocross/track/weekend driving, but for now I'm going to blow my money on tires, maintenance, and recovering the seats.

I have the Dunlop Star Specs on the 944 Turbo and recently tracked the car with them. They are a fantastic dual purpose tire in my opinion! I never lacked confidence in their grip while on the hot dry track. In fact, I will probably use these on the 911 and E30 BMW when it comes time to get tires.

My 968 has Bridgestone Pole Positions and they seem to be good for the street but I don't think they would make good DE track tires.

A friend has Hankook's (sorry, forget the exact model) and they were also great on the track. I think in a recent comparison, they were ranked a close 2nd behind the Dunlops.

On the track, a semi slick is still better.
These Dunlops were designed for autocross -- they heat up very quickly and stick quite nicely.

On the track, however, they continue to heat up and will get greasy.

I've got about 15K miles on a set and they still have 5/32" tread depth left. I figure I've got another season on them...but I'm not using them for autocross anymore...went to DOT racing tires.

my dunlop 9000s are nice.... still going strong after 25 k miles, and have lots of life left... conti-sports are beautiful pilot sport clones...

i would give my dunlops a 9.6 out of 10.... amazing treadlife, they're quiet enough, and they grip plenty good enough in the wet-or-dry for the street.

i imagine the new direzza's might be a slightly stickier compound to keep up with michelin....

i have a pair of used conti-sport 285-35-18s, which are worn to about 25.6 inches if my dunlops ever wear out. ideal.

I bought a set of the Hankook Ventus and have been very happy with them. They're not overly loud, provide a generally smooth ride and are a good value, IMO.
