Wanting a new windshield for 968 coupe
Hi all,
I did some research in the forums.
Seems that the only glass is available from the dealer/factory. Correct?
That the only glass available is technically the cabriolet glass with the antenna attached, but it fits the coupe just fine. Correct?
Where should I have it installed? Dealer? Some other glass place?
I live in the south SF bay area in case anyone has any specific recommendations.
Thanks,
Phil

Give safelite a call. They come to you.
The glass tech I had here md. did a great job on both my 968 and 951.
On the 968 I got the glass from the dealer had safelite do the install.
I got lucky on the 951 and was able to get sekruit glass from safelite. I've read some people had bad experiance from safelite. Some, myself included had a positive experiance.

Yes - on the cab glass fitting the coupe.
Yes - my experience was glass available only from Porsche.
Local windshield glass shops can order & install. The glass was expensive - around $500 - but hey, it's Porsche. Luckily my insurance covered all but $200.

As mentioned in another thread, the 968 windshield is next to impossible to find. And the 944 windshield does not work, so don't even go that route.
That's one of the reasons I went with Lexan; but mine is a track-only vehicle. I don't know if Lexan is street legal.
Can't verify the cab windshield, but sounds like somebody already covered that one for you.
Good luck...
