I have searched the site, but never find quite what I need, or maybe just not the math whiz I need to be to figure out wheel fitment. ![surrender](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/surrender.gif)
The car is a 1995 968 Cab (white/blue/6 spd).
I want to swap out a set of cheaper style 17" turbo twist wheels and replace them with either:
1) 2001 17" Boxster 5 spoke sport wheels (excellent shape and I have a set sitting in the garage all cleaned up and ready to mount; or
2) install a set of 17" cup style porsche wheels that came as an original option set on the car, however they would need to be refinished.
The Boxster wheels are:
front: 7Jx17 with offset ET 55;
rear 8.5Jx17 with offset ET 48
The cup wheels are
front 7.5Jx17 with ET 65 (part 993.362.124.05);
rear 9Jx17 with ET 55 (part 993.362.128.00)
My questions are:
1) Will the Boxster wheels fit without spacers?;
2)with these sizes and offsets, would the Boxster wheels fill out the wheel well area about the same as the cups wheels (I know the cup wheels are a total of 1/2 wider, but not sure of the effect of the offsets);
3) will the current front tires 225/45zr17 fit the boxster rims (the old front tire size on the Boxster wheels was a 205/50zr17)?
Any help, advice or suggestions is welcome.
(I also posted on general -wheel/tires section of forum)
Thanks
