They were made by a company called Saratoga. They are no longer in production.
I had a few of them over the years. I find they make the interior allot hotter in the warm months.
When looking for one make sure it is not for a manual roof, the latches are different.
Personally, I think they are way over rated.
If you must have one, check the FS post here and on pelican.
They come up a few times a year. Also check eBay.
Expect to pay from $350 (if your really lucky) to $800.
I have one in the car I recently purchased and will be looking to get rid of it, or at least find a stock roof to run most of the time. I find it noisy and it leaks at the rear corners. No comment on the heat, but it does have a nice bronze tint.
Well, allow me to be the dissident... I LOVE mine. I got the one with manual latches, did a few mods to it and got it to the point that it doesn't rattle, sqeak, leak and works just like the factory unit. It makes the car really open up for genral purpose cruising. Obviously its not a great option for a track car, but for street use, its great.
I bought one for my father as an X-mas gift years ago as it was all he ever talked about. He really liked the look on his 968, but never really used it much. It has been sitting in the garage, in a vinyl bag at his house ever since. Go figure . . .

They dont all have a bronze tint, there are 2 diff types.
Personally, i really like moonroofs and would like to pick one up for myself in the near future.
as far as the leaking goes, i think thats more of an issue with the moldings rather then the top itself. I've seen factory 968 sunroofs that leak plenty of times.
