968 DME on a 944S2... fuel and cam timing?
I'm dealing with a 1991 944S2 fitted with a 1995 968 DME/Harness/MAF. It does run (and IS quite drivable) but something's not quite right. Under load, it seems the fuel supply's timing is off.
Is the 968 DME's injector timing programmed to coincide with the variable cam/valve timing? Could this be why it's running strangely under load?
If so, is this something that can be fixed by modifying the ePROM in the DME to eliminate the VarioCam mapping of the fuel injector timing?
If so, does anyone know of someone who can do this?
