WAS ABLE TO USE iSCAN PLATFORM TO READ AND CLEAR THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON A 1994 968. YOU WILL NEED THE CORRECT PLUG ADAPTER AND THE PORT IS LOCATED UNDER THE PASSENGER KNEE BOLSTER. I HAVE NOT NEEDED TO USE THE "HAMMER" YET. DO NOT DISABLE THE LIGHT OR REMOVE WIRES. DO IT RIGHT!!
Where can I find the iSCAN platform?
I fixed my steering wheel problem but created an air bag light problem.
I have to look it up but theres a resistor fitted to the airbag wire in hub that mimics the airbag and keeps the module happy.
The resistor is 3 ohm, but this is only needed if you put a non-airbag wheel on the 968 to trick the system into thinking the airbag is there. This will not reset the airbag once the light has been tripped in the airbag module. You either need to get software or the hammer to reset the light. There is a bypass jumper with part number 928-612-220-00 its a little flat plug that inserts into the harness high up behind glovebox near airbag module that bypasses the airbag module for both sides driver & passenger. Many guys who put their cars on the track will use this. I cant say if this being inserted after the airbag light comes on will help either, strikes me that it would because it effectively jumps out the airbag module.... but once the light has been triggered perhaps the ECU is aware ?? Anyway, here is a pic of the jumper.
