Default recaro sport seat installation

hi, I picked up a seat of recaro "sport" seats and need a little help with installation -

here're the seat dimensions -

so you see the seat hangs down below the bracket mounts. Will the Recaro brackets number 86.94.16 raise them up enough ? Anyone know if those brackets have a normal seat belt mount on them ?

harnesses are part of the plan also, so I think I need to add an eyebolt somewhere on the tunnel -

right now I'm thinking that gusset plate with the hole in it, south west of the shifter in this picture ( courtesy of Chads996 racecar build ), what do you think ?

thanks in advance,

Donn C.

The mounts should be fine just tell them when you are ordering what you are using them for and they will tell you for sure. For the safest installation an eye bolt through the plate you are referring to is best but there are seat plates that bolt under the seat that provide a mount for a harness/factory reciever if you don't want to go drilling holes in your car.

here they are finally -
pretty easy bolt-in with the recaro adaptors #86.94.16 (left) and 86.94.26 (right), though most of the weight loss is used up by the heavy steel spacers

quite comfortable, though the base padding is thinner, it's cushy enough, and I like the lower seating position better

the cloth and shoulder supports hold you in place, can't wait to get harnesses

the japanese cherry blossom pattern is an eye catcher, one of those love it or hate it things I guess, and my friends have already promised me a "hello kitty" shift ****...
best, Donn C.
p.s. my beige 4-way power sport seats are available

And I thought the Ruf cloth fabric interiors were "unique".

Those seat coverings are hiddeous..
Did you get them second hand or did you actually buy them new + specify that cover.????
OR
Did you fit them for a joke , just to see the reaction on here.?????

Yes, they're second-hand, a nice bargain from a ricer parts importer in LA. Still, it isn't cheap to move seats around, and the brackets were more than expected. Thought the red multi went pretty well in the tan interior, but maybe it'll look better with some solid mats. My son spent a semester in Osaka last year and even he said, "well ?". Hey, can't take this too seriously while I'm putting kids through school and saving up for a GT3, just happy to have this baby to drive to work tomorrow with the roof off...
Best,
Donn C.

p.s. here's the shifter cover I've been threatened with...
