sounds like your car put out 252 Din (Crank) HP. (Not WHP).

nice car either way.

I thought DIN was the European system of measurement - we use SAE. Are you sure DIN = crank HP? I always thought BHP was crank HP.

It is the european measurement, and SAE is the U.S. measurement. They both measure HP @ the Crank, not @ the wheels. Diff. methods. a stock 968 is rated @ 236BHP (SAE) or 240HP (DIN).

That is what I thought. Your reply gave the impression DIN was the same as HP at the crank. How can you tell that his dyno readings were taken at the crank? I am curious because I have zero experience reading these things.

The Dyno Sheet states "DIN" HP. Airbox mod, header/exhaust & chip wont give you that much power at the wheels, Otherwise a lot of people would be making that power. There are quite a few cars with these same mods out there.

But isn't DIN simply a unit of measurement and not a description of the source? Or are HP readings always taken at the crank (BHP)? How does one figure RWHP if that is the case?

like sae, din is a unit of measurement. Many euro Dyno's give you an estimated crank measurement. You work backwords to get the RWHP. 252 should be roughly 220RWHP.

If that Dyno reading is at the Wheels, then either the calibration is way off or there is more to the story and those arn't the only modifications done to Pazzer's car.

For those of us who were confused by lack of chart. Here it is from the other thread. (I stopped reading that thread awhile ago)

I am about 210 rwhp on a dynajet with SAE correction which using 15% drive line loss is 247 crank HP. My car is just coming off some major maintenance items ( replace 8 exhaust valves, valve job, mildly blown head gasket and all the other normal maint items) so I will see what the new HP numbers are. I have K&N, airbox mod, headers, racing muffler, stage 2 rs barn chip.

I have similar mods to what Mike is running. My local dynojet says 226-227 at the wheels after correction. Who knows, dynos, even comparing dynojet to dynojet, will vary. I've posted numerous charts, so I won't bother to copy here, just know that I'm happy with the power.
