I just picked up an 95 blk/blk E34 wagon.
The transformation has begun. Replace entire suspension, Vogtland Springs with Bilsteins. Found a coupe sets of wheels. Amazing how cheap these cars are.
After all maintainance and upgrades, $3800 all in.

As much as I hate red, the red/red wagon is pretty cool.

Funny thing about the Porsche wagon is I do not see it doing that well in snow! The Audiis on the other hand are a very different story. I went the SUV route and bought a Toureg. I could not make myself spend the extra $30K for the Cayenne V8. and I actually love the VW... When it is paid off I may consider trading for the Cayenne turbo, thier used prices have plummeted.

I drove the 968 in the snow last year with Dunlap snow's. Not a problem. I think the DP wagon would do better due to more rear weight bias.

"Audi RS2-with 968 wheels and mirrors"
Damian, Nice looking Porsche/Audi mix. I did not know that Porsche wheels would work on that Audi. I like that Idea and may look for a set for my A6 - which looks like almost the same body style as that RS2. Is that your Audi or just a web picture? If it is yours...What size wheels did you mount? Same width front and Back?

Jacks,

Porsche wheels will not work on an audi, the bolt pattern is not the same. You can purchase replicas / adapters to make them fit, but in general it is not thought to be a good idea to go with either option.

The Audi RS2 was a calibration between Audi and Porsche and used OEM Porsche brembo brakes from the 951 and 7x17 OEM Porsche Cup 1 wheels along with the teardrop mirrors ... This is one of my all time favorite cars. The RS2 was never imported officially to the US and stayed in Europe which was a great shame. They still sell for good money over in Europe.

Here are some pictures:

WOW too cool- thanks for the "across the pond" info. There are so many cool cars that never make it state side. I have been on the Autoboan and remember many times saying "what the @#$% was that?" as it blew by me... too much fun-

Future,
Thanks for posting these great pics of the RS2 - which is the same body as my A6 from the windshield back.

Sadly I will just have to imagine that is what I am driving when I am inside my A6 Avant. It is a great car but has alway lacked a bit in the motor and brakes - just what the Porsche parts made perfect in the "hi-bread". If this car was not so sturdy I would look to trade up to a newer RS Quattro or maybe the All-Road model. May car has made two comfortable cross country trips and this past week motored through frame deep snow with never a protest. But I will say I like the older body style and the bumper on that RS2 is a nice improvement. Merry Christmas to you on the other side of the Pond.

That's certainly one way to fix hatch delamination.

I don't hate it but I think I prefer the Boxster/Cayman wagon that was making the rounds a while ago.

Looking at Dan P's post a little more, I really like that it looks reversible, if you wanted to go back to stock.

Cheers

I quite like it - it's a different and interesting look.

I did a work stint in Munich few years back, and when I visited the huge Munich Classic Zentrum / OPC for a nose around of the 956's and a whole range of rare classics for sale, I noticed this behind the reception window into the workshops...
