968 Turbo RS version 2 factory adjustable rear wing product development

Hi all
We have not been lazy over Christmas / New Year and continued with the development of the Type 2 rear wing which proved to be quite challenging.
As neither the leading nor the trailing edge are straight, shaping the new profile was difficult and time consuming. Additionally, the original Type 1 wing profile is far too thick at the lower side on the rear which meant that about half of the lower part had to be fully cut off and redimensioned to fit in with the new profile.
Anyway, after about 30 hours of development, the wing is getting along very well. Not perfect yet, but you can get the picture. It certainly is already better than the factory quality standards I have seen with original TS wings.
But enough writing, let's have a look at the pictures. As you can see we have made the carriers and the center piece one unit to allow us to make a perfectly symmetrical product. When looking at the trailing edge you will also notice that it is still box shaped...this will be rounded as soon as I have made sure that it is perfectly symmetrical:
Cheers

I have just noticed that the pictures don't really point out the shape of the new product so have quickly taken new ones without flashlight but better light:
and a profile view of the new wing...you can judge by the profile that this will create massive downforce...

I think their plan is to cut it and develop the adjustablity once the shape is finalized.
Looks great BTW!

Hi Thom
Yes, off course it will be adjustable! But I had to fix all parts together to perfectly align them and ensure everything is symmetrical. It is almost impossible to do this with good results if you have 3 separate pieces...
