I have been running 8.5in front and 10 in rear wheels with Hoosier R6 245/35-18 and 285/30-18 tires. I like the grip and get 3-4 DEs per set before cording them. My car is set up with Leda coliovers, Racers Edge spherical bearings/Aarms, 800lb fr and 700lb rear springs. I plan to race PCA E stock next year. I have thought about trying Toyo R888s, but they don't make a 245/35-18 tire.
What tire sizes would you recommend with the Toyo R888s?
Anyone have 1st hand experience with their car on 17 vs 18 in wheels and effect on lap times or with R6 vs R888s?
Will the R888s wear longer and provide adequate grip as they wear?
Thanks for any advice.

Dave:
You would be going backwards from an R6 to the T888 by a couple of seconds per lap depending on the track. You are running the proper size for our cars.

Dave,
The Toyos are about 1.5 to 2 seconds slower per lap than the R6's (YMMV). However, you will get at least twice the # of DE's out of the 888's before cording. So, if money is an issue, go with the Toyos. If you have lots of cash and want to be the DE champ, stick with Hoosiers. I for one try to save my hoosiers and run the toyos at DE's.
Jason, the talk is that that 888 is not nearly as good in the rain as the old Toyo. I haven't run mine in the rain and would not hesitate to run them on a damp track, but would definately switch to my Hoosier wets for a wet track.
