If you do decide to part it I'm interested in the passenger side exterior lower moulding.

I have thought long and hard about this situation and I can now assure everyone that car will not be parted out piece by piece. I do not have the time nor the energy to deal with individual part sales. I know I could most likely generate a little more money by parting the car out in this fashion but it is not worth the effort to me. I will try and get an asking price together ASAP.

Thanks again,

Default Project update

I have the transmission and torque tube pulled from my 951 and hope to pull its motor this weekend. It will then be on to the 968. I hope to have removed what I need from the 968 within the next three weeks so stay tuned. When the rolling chassis officially goes up for sale I will post a response here along with a new thread in the for sale section. I plan on listing it on 968forums as well so that all interested parties can be notified. I will start another thread in the rennlist 951 section detailing my progress on the conversion soon. I'm thinking of creating a website to detail all the steps necessary for this conversion so that others will have a central place to go when they have a "how do you do this" question. I'm sure to gain a wealth of information that would be silly to not pass along.

Thanks,

Default Progress update

I have yet to pull the motor from my 951. I am very close though. I hope to have it pulled either this weekend or next then it will be on to the 968. I did manage to get around to removing the 968's hatch, the door handle and mirror from the driver's side and the driver's side door panel. I'm going to install my 951 door panels in the car so it will not be so stripped. Anyway, I hope to have the roller available sometime towards the end of October or the first of November so stay tuned. I am also in the process of setting up a website that will detail my progress with the project. I hope to have this up and running in the next few weeks.

Richard Bennet aka "samluke" is looking for exactly what you have for sale.

I have sent him a PM for you to this thread Chad

He planning on the exact opposite build to you for his new track car.

Has anybody spoken to Pablo about this...He wrecked his car at the NASA race at Pocono about 2 weeks ago, and I think he also might be interested.

Pete, from RS barn, is supporting him.

Can you pass along this to him?

I have the motor and tranny pulled from my 951 so it is time to finish removing what I need from the 968. I should have the 968 motor and tranny pulled in a few weeks. As I have said before it is my goal to have the 968 rolling chassis officially up for sale by the first week of November. Stay tuned.

Here is the current status of the 968 rolling chassis preparation. Unfortunately, it will not be available for sale by the first week of November. I was set back two weeks due to some charitable mechanic work for a family member so needless to say I have not had the chance to do much with the 968. Couple that fact with me being out of town for the first two weeks of November and it does not spell a pretty picture for meeting my goal date. Anyway, I'm hoping to have the 968 tranny pulled this weekend and finish up the car sometime towards November. That means it will most likely be available around the first of December so stay tuned. Sorry for the delay but you all know how life can get in the way of your plans.

Thanks,

Default Current update

I wanted to give all interested parties a current update in regards to the 968 rolling chassis. I have been unable to find the time to finish removing the parts I need from the 968. I hoped to have the parts removed by now but it just didn't happen as fast I wanted it too. I honestly need to figure out a safe heat source for my garage so that I can work throughout the winter. I plan to work on the car over the next few weekends (temperature permitting). Hopefully, I can have the car ready for sale in the next month or so. Stay tuned and sorry for the delay.

Default Transmission is out

Thanks to a fellow rennlister's help the transmission is out. I'm going to try and pull the torque tube and shift linkage this week and maybe try and pull the motor next weekend. Stay tuned.

The torque tube is out and I am struggling with getting the rear suspension back up in the car. I should have this finished tomorrow. Once, this is done I will move on to pulling the motor. It should not be too long now. I just need to figure out exactly what I still need from the car and get the stuff removed so I can get a price on it and officially get it up for sale. To all interested parties, thanks for your patience.

The rear suspension is officially back under the car. I hope to start pulling the motor and ABS unit this weekend so stay tuned.
