Default HELP! Steering knuckle question

I am having one heck (I am using a nice work here....) of a time getting the steering wheel universal joint on the steering rack. No matter how hard I wiggle it, push it, curse at it, it will not slip on all the way.... I have loosened the steering rack for more room, but it makes no difference. I can get it on just the tip, but can not slip it past that notch where the bolt goes.

Help!!

Anybody have any suggestions?

Try spreading the joint apart and it might slip on easier.

It was just very tight. I loosened the steering rack for some room, then used my 18" breaker bar. I placed it down by the intake and wacked the edge several times. It moved the steering joint down onto the rack enough so that when I tightened the rack back into place, it finally fit. Geez....the last bolt before I was done and it was not fun.... BUT, it is on!
