Default Anyone running on Coilovers w/out Torsion Bars?

Just wondering if anyone has some time (1+yrs) running without torsion bars using a coil-over system. Street or Track.

There is a lot of info on the 944turbo site. Do a search or post there.

Yes, I have and as a result I am asking that is there anyone running this particular set up currently and has been with no issue or not. Searching through the info led to this question. I guess from your answer that you are not running this setup?

I am not running it, but am considering it for the future. What is your question? I would be interested in hearing it.

I have been running full coil-overs with torsion bar delete for the last 4 years on my 951. The only issue that I had was early on I broke a rear shock mount bolt. After that I switched to the Racers Edge lower shock mounts and haven't had any issues. I plan to swap this setup over to my 968.

I've removed my torsion bars and run coil-overs, too.

Currently have Motons with 650# and 750# springs.

Thanks that is what I wanted to hear. Alot of the discussions always stem from people talking about it but never a critical mass of people saying yes I run it street/track and have been for a considerable amount of time. I have chosen the escort cup and have already deleted the rear torsion bars but of course after it is back together is when I question the strength of the rear lower shock bolts.

I did get the racer's edge rear shock mounts. If anyone is using them, did you all have the thread changed to 1/4 from 14mm? Anyone using stock bolt?

Rich,

I don't think so...I'm pretty sure we upgraded when I first went to the Bilstein Cup suspension.

I just got the Motons this winter from a fellow who is parting out his car. I don't think we did anything different to put those in.

With the RE units you have to change the lower shock sperical bearing to a half inch. The stock 14mm is too large.

Like I said above, I tried using the stock bolts, but it didn't work to well. I hit a bump at 110 mph and it snapped the bolt in two.

Real experience is the most valuable, you guys are really helping. Kasturbo, great photo, totally illustrates what I was trying to spark up a discussion about. Ehall, do you like the escort cups on the street? Does the increased responsiveness to the road cause internal injury?

Why not, parents require them all to go pass your knees?
